Mindful Foundations, Inc. is a holistic business
intervention that integrates the emotional intelligent components of
self-awareness, self-regulation & self-compassion with mindfulness practices in improving the personal health, performance and physical, emotional and social well-being of others.
Mindfulness is cultivating a practice of paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment. It can be best described as "applied self-awareness" or an instinctive intuitive sense. Mindfulness is a purposeful combination of attention, intention and attitude. The ultimate purpose of mindfulness is an "appropriate response."
The Chinese character for "mindfulness" consists of two halves. The top half is the character for the present moment and the bottom half is the character for the heart. One could say that mindfulness then is being "heartfelt" in the present moment. When confronting our daily grind, we are often overworking our mental and emotional energy and under-working our physical and spiritual energy. Consistent and attentive energy management is the key to living healthy and optimally. It is the conscious oscillation between energy expenditure and energy recovery that makes for lasting success and well-being improvement.
Evidenced-based benefits of mindfulness practice and interventions include reduced anxiety and stress levels, stronger and more resilient immune systems, reduction in the effects of pain, increased memory, reduced depression and fatigue, weight management and lower blood pressure, and an increased capacity for empathy and compassion.
